In Nepal's Langtang area, Yala is a trekking peak. It is rated as grade F (facile/easy) on the alpine grading system, though the snow conditions may change this rating by one or more points. Rarely is the summit climbed on its own; instead, it is frequently used as a warm-up for Naya Kanga, which lies on the other side of the valley. If you are fortunate enough with the weather, the summit offers surprisingly fantastic views of Shishapangma. This is a great peak for your first Himalayan peak. Base camp is located at the end of the trail, and high camp is another half-hike day's away.
